Sinn is marking 65 years with the 140 A S Anniversary, a chronograph limited to 300 pieces, each one numbered on the case back.
The watch is built around the Sinn SZ01 movement, which is based on the architecture of the ETA 7750. It beats at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), has 28 jewels, a stop-seconds function and a 42-hour power reserve. A central 60-minute chronograph hand jumps from minute to minute, and a rotatable minute scale runs around the whole dial. A crown at 10 o’clock sets that scale, so it can double as a timing bezel. The movement is rated to work down to -45 degrees Celsius.
The cushion-shaped stainless steel case is 44 mm across and 15.5 mm thick, with a 46 mm lug-to-lug span and a 22 mm lug width. Satin-finished and polished surfaces are mixed, and a black DLC coating over Tegiment hardening protects against scratches. The sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on both sides. Sinn’s D3-System is used for the crown and pushers, and Ar-Dehumidifying Technology limits moisture inside. Water resistance is 100 m (10 bar). The watch weighs 118 grams without a strap.

The dial swaps the usual red for yellow on the chronograph hands and on the elapsed-hour hand in the 6 o’clock sub-dial. The hour and minute hands, hour markers and bezel pip are lumed. On the back, an engraving shows the insignia of the Spacelab D1 mission.
The watch comes with either a black-coated, satin-finished, DLC-coated steel bracelet or a black-and-yellow cowhide leather strap with yellow padding. The price is €5,490 with either.
