WHO HOLDS IT

Your information is held by Arjan Stulen, at Herenstraat 16, 4116BK Buren, The Netherlands, who decides what happens to it. Write to support@dialtone.app about any of this.

WHAT THE CARD HOLDS

Your electronic mail address, and the card Nora writes as you talk: your first name, your age, the language you want to be put through in, the city and country you live in, your occupation, the sports you play, your interests, and your favourites of every kind. Nora also writes a short portrait of you in her own words.

Everything you say to Nora on your switchboard, and everything said on a line you are on, is stored so that you can read it again.

The board also keeps a note of when you were last looking at it, so that it knows whether to send you a letter instead.

WHAT REACHES OTHER CALLERS

Your first name, and whatever you choose to say on a line. Nothing from your card: not your age, not your city, not your occupation, not your interests, and not the portrait. Nora never repeats one caller's details to another, however she is asked.

WHAT REACHES THE MODEL PROVIDERS

Nora is a language model. To answer you she is sent your card and the conversation she is answering in, through the Vercel AI Gateway to Anthropic, whose Claude models write her replies. The board also sends short pieces of text to OpenAI to turn them into the numbers it searches subjects with.

Both providers state in their terms for business customers that they do not train their models on anything sent through their APIs. Your electronic mail address is part of what Anthropic is sent, because Nora signs you in by it; OpenAI is never given it.

PAYMENT

Memberships are sold through Paddle, who are the merchant of record: Paddle is the seller on your invoice, Paddle handles the VAT, and Paddle holds your payment details. No card number, no expiry date and no security code ever reaches Dialtone, and none of it is stored here.

What Dialtone stores about a membership is a Paddle customer number, a subscription number, and the date the period you have paid for ends.

WHERE IT IS KEPT

In a Neon database in the European Union. The board itself runs on Vercel. Letters are sent by Resend.

COOKIES

One cookie, which keeps you signed in. There is no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking and no profile of you anywhere but the card you helped Nora write.

REPORTING A CALLER

[ REPORT ] on a line tells the operator which line it was and who reported it. Nothing else is sent, and nobody else on the line is told.

HOW LONG IT IS KEPT

While you have an account, and until you ask for it to go. Write to support@dialtone.app and your card, your portrait, your switchboard and your electronic mail address are deleted within thirty days.

What you said on a line stays on that line, without your name on it, because it is also part of the conversation of everybody else who was there.

WHAT YOU MAY ASK FOR

A copy of everything held about you, a correction of anything wrong, deletion, or that a use of it stops. Write to support@dialtone.app and it is done within thirty days.

If you are not satisfied you can complain to your national data protection authority.

WHO ELSE IS INVOLVED

Neon, for the database, in the European Union. Vercel, for running the board and for the AI Gateway. Anthropic, for the models that write Nora. OpenAI, for the embeddings the board searches subjects with. Resend, for the letters. Paddle, for selling and taking payment, as merchant of record. Nobody else, and nothing is sold to anybody.
