Hamilton has brought back the Cushion, which first appeared in 1926 as the Cushion Plain and Cushion Engraved and reflects Art Deco design. The new American Classic Cushion collection comes in six configurations, spread across two case sizes, four dial styles and three finishes.
The cases measure 30mm or 34mm, both 8.1mm thick. The 30mm models have a 16mm lug width, while the 34mm models have lugs 18mm apart. Finishes are polished stainless steel, a 3N yellow gold PVD coating, and an engraved stainless steel case with Art Deco-style patterns. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial. All six models offer 50 meters of water resistance.
Dials include Roman numerals on a white enamel-style face (the numerals are non-luminous), Arabic numerals with Super-LumiNova on the beige dial of the 30mm steel model and the black dial of the 34mm steel model, and a silver sunray dial with radially oriented Arabic numerals on the engraved model. The gold PVD models have beige dials. The collection offers a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. All models have a gloss black lacquer cathedral-style handset, with luminous hour and minute hands and an hour hand tip filled with Super-LumiNova.
Inside is the new manual-wind Caliber H-42, visible through a display caseback. It is based on the ETA 7001 (Peseux 7001), beats at 21,600vph (3Hz), has a Nivachron balance spring and offers a 57-hour power reserve.

The references are:
30mm: H36109720 (steel, white dial, Roman numerals, black strap), H36109710 (steel, beige dial, black strap) and H36119520 (gold PVD, beige dial, brown strap).
34mm: H36139520 (gold PVD, beige dial), H36129730 (steel, black dial, black strap) and H36149710 (engraved steel, silver sunray dial).
The stainless steel models cost $995 and the gold PVD models $1,095.
