Kiwame Tokyo, a watchmaking brand founded in 2025 and based in Asakusa, has added the Kubo Momiji to its compact Kubo series. The new model takes its inspiration from Koimomiji, a traditional Japanese colour.
The dial is glossy red lacquer. At 4:30 sits a recessed small-seconds subdial, and inside it a raised maple leaf, or momiji. The small-seconds hand carries a counterweight inspired by the roofline of Asakusa’s Kaminarimon gate. The hour and minute hands are luminous, and diamond-shaped luminous markers sit at all twelve positions.

The stainless steel case is 37mm across and 9.3mm thick, rising to 10.7mm with the domed sapphire crystal, which has an inner anti-reflective coating. Lug-to-lug is 45mm, the bezel is flat and vertically brushed, the caseback is solid steel, and water resistance is 30m. Inside is the Miyota 82S5 automatic, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with about 42 hours of power reserve. The strap is Italian calf leather with quick-release spring bars.
Pre-orders open on November 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time, limited to one watch per person. The price is USD 630, excluding taxes, and deliveries are expected to start in January 2027.
