Glashütte Original has added two watches to its Senator line, both with aventurine glass dials: the Senator Aventurine Art Déco Blue in platinum and the Senator Aventurine Art Nouveau Green in red gold.
Aventurine gets its sparkle from metal oxide particles in the molten glass. Here the disc carries a black lacquer coating on its reverse. The dial has no indices, no date and no central seconds, just hours and minutes. The inscriptions, Glashütte Original and Glashütte i/SA, are in glossy white. The pear-shaped hands are solid gold, white gold on the platinum watch and red gold on the red gold one.
Both cases measure 40mm across and 10.2mm thick, with a 47.09mm lug-to-lug and 50m water resistance. The blue model comes on a matching alligator leather strap, while the green one has a brown Louisiana alligator nubuck strap.
Inside is the automatic Caliber 36, in its new 36-16 variant. The caliber was introduced in 2016, and this version has an anti-magnetic silicon hairspring and a 100-hour power reserve. It beats at 28,800 bph. The sapphire case back shows Glashütte ribbing on the three-quarter plate, a hand-engraved balance cock, sunburst-finished winding wheels and a skeletonised rotor with a solid gold rim and mass.
Both watches are part of the Atelier commissions, and each is assembled by a single watchmaker. The Art Nouveau Green, Ref. 1-36-16-41-05-01, is priced at EUR 34,900, and the Art Déco Blue, Ref. 1-36-16-40-03-01, at EUR 36,900. They arrive in October 2026 at Glashütte Original boutiques and selected retailers worldwide.
